We know that many of you are “bag collectors,” some of you with closets full of old laptop bags. We’re obviously happy and appreciative when you buy a new bag from Skooba, but we also hate to think of all those poor old bags—some of them perfectly usable but retired for the latest style—going to waste. So here’s a way you can put them to good use and do good at the same time.
Dress for Success helps disadvantaged women by preparing them for the workforce with career development services and professional clothing. Though their greatest need is for business clothing, you can also donate gently used black bags that would be interview and workplace appropriate. Companies such as Nine West, Ann Taylor, and Bobbi Brown Cosmetics donate clothing and accessories to this worthy cause, putting you in good company if you choose to donate. There is a similar charity for men, called Career Gear.
Think about giving a new and noble life to your retired business gear, it’s good in so many ways.

Self-serving post… after-holiday steals!

Well, the shopping frenzy is over but we’ve still got a bunch of cool stuff in our factory outlet that you can grab for ridiculous prices while they last.
If you or a friend got a laptop for the holidays, this is a great chance to “steal” a top-of-the-line, genuine, award-winning Skooba bag to give that laptop the home it deserves. Welcome to our new blog!

We’re happy to introduce you to the new skoobablog.
Unlike so many “corporate” blogs, the main purpose of this forum is not to sell you stuff. Sure, we’ll post the occasional self-serving comments like new product announcements and other company news that we hope will be of interest. But what we really hope to do is provide interesting and entertaining content on a wide variety of topics.
Our favorite things to talk about (besides bags) are travel, technology, business, customer service stories, and design. But we’re sure there will be much more.
Contributors will be people from all areas of our business, including product designers, graphic artists, office and operations staff, our CEO and perhaps some surprise guests.
We hope you’ll contribute and keep following the blog. Again, welcome!
